Alien Ant Farm has released their first new record since 2006’s Up In The Attic. The album titled Always And Forever was released Feb. 24 at an album-release show at The Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA. For a Tuesday night the venue was full of fans who have been waiting almost nine years to hear new music. One of Detroit’s hottest bands Kaleido came into town to open the show. The two bands spent a good amount of time touring together over the summer and it was the perfect combination for this show.

When Alien Ant Farm took the stage the floor was packed and the balcony was lined full of fans.  The new album was funded by a successful Pledge Music Campaign. Many of those pledgers were in the crowd and anxious to hear the new songs. The band mixed in plenty of the new songs, including “Simpatico.” “Let Em Know.” and “Homage.”  The first single from the new record, “Homage,” was released last year. It is the standout track on the album and pays homage to all of the bands that have influenced Alien Ant Farm over the years. The album features a few heavy rock songs and a few softer ballads, including “American Pie” a song surely to be stuck in your head all day. The band still mixed in the fan favorites during the set including “Movies,” “These Days,” and closing with their biggest song to date “Smooth Criminal.”

Always And Forever is a breath of fresh air in today’s current rock n’ roll scene. It has a great mix of heavy rock songs, ballads, and well written hooks that make you want to push play and then replay. The band does not mess around in their live show. It’s not fancy. It’s to the point and what you came to hear, something true fans appreciate. You can check them out on tour soon and be sure to pick up the album.  You can order Always And Forever online at iTunes and Amazon.
